The lap joint used to be a very common “no frills” joinery method. Today its almost obsolete because of biscuits and dominos. Still a handy joint for general carpentry.
Yes indeed. It doesn’t need to be complex to work. I am playing with mortises now and cannot believe that I was taught that this need machinery and jigs. Doh!
