Thanks for the suggestion. I have a long and rambling post drafted about walking sticks, staffs, and the like I started last year and get back to from time to time. In fact, I’m in the process of carving a new one right now but it could take months. I’m a fan, and living and working in wilderness, there is something to be said for a stout piece of wood. We have a real problem with feral dogs and it seems I never have my stick when I most need it!
