Various hickory mallets and a spoon from Osage orange.

As I sort and cull my tools (and life) I want to share some past projects that may seem too simple to consider.  I am not always on the path to a handmade life but I’m also never far from it.

The Tinsmiths, 1763

tinsmith_diderot_1763Stump anvils, stakes, hammers, lamps, mandrel, soldering iron, and other goodies galore.  Diderot never missed a lick and this is as good as any.  From Diderot and D’Alembert 1763 Encyclopedia of Sciences, Arts and Trades.  One of my favorite resources.

The little table has many miles on it now and doesn't look this pretty at all. I'm actually in the midst of refinishing it and will post pictures sometime soon.
