Chuck Wagon Camp, New Mexico

Wednesday, February 4, 2015Wednesday, February 4, 2015 ~ George Crawford ~ 3 Comments

A chuck wagon in camp in southeast New Mexico around A.D. 1900.  Photograph from the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center.  It’s a great image of a working camp.  Plains-Dwellers and Desert Rats take their shade seriously.

Design was kept as short as possible for transport. The cross bolt where the arm hinges is a salvaged bolt from an old truck spare tire holder.
