Let’s face it. If you shop at just about any major retail store and buy brand name attire, you know you are okay with some level of slavery. Whether that is 15 hour per day sweat shops in Los Angeles (made in USA), or more blatant slavery in places like Saipan (also labeled “made in USA”) with all of its associated atrocities.
I am no better. I have bought many things with a thought to the suffering caused by their production. Now I tend to read labels and shop only from companies whose track record I know about or buy second hand at consignment and used clothing shops. I’m not sure if second hand is the best answer, as I can blend with the people who do endorse sweatshops, but at least the money isn’t going back to those corporations from me.
That said, I have an interest in home made clothing and shoes. Unfortunately, since few others respect these choices or lifestyle decisions, my handmade cloths and shoes are not really acceptable in the modern work place.

I am completely with you on this issue, there are some great documentaries online about what Globalization has done to Indonesia among other enslaved countries, like our own. I am glad to see that i am not the only one who cares. KUDOS
